# Helpful Tips:

01 -
  • The maple syrup creates these gorgeous caramelized edges that make the carrots taste like candy but in a sophisticated way
  • It requires almost zero active cooking time, leaving you free to focus on the main dish or pour yourself a glass of wine
  • The combination of earthy cumin and sweet maple somehow works beautifully together, surprising everyone who tries it
02 -
  • Overcrowding the pan too much will steam the carrots instead of roasting them, leaving you with sad, pale vegetables instead of caramelized beauties
  • The maple syrup burns faster than oil alone, so keep an eye on them during the final 10 minutes and pull them early if needed
03 -
  • If your carrots are particularly thick, cut them in half lengthwise first so they cook through before the edges burn
  • Letting the carrots cool slightly on the baking sheet allows them to develop even more caramelization from the residual heat
